My 2012 Fleur De Lis Princess

Hey friends!

In just a few short hours, I will be headed up North to Monroe, Louisiana for the State Meeting! I get to turn in all of my Miss Louisiana paperwork, find out what to expect for competition week and visit with the other pageant queens for the first time! As you can imagine I am getting VERY anxious! I will be sure to take lots of pictures and of course blog about the whole experience shortly thereafter!

Now this blog is very special; I want to take this opportunity to share with everyone some very exciting news! As title holders, we reach out to girls of all ages and strive to be influential in their lives. Each year as the Miss Louisiana contestants compete for the big title we select one or several young girls to mentor during pageant week. The girls range from the ages of 5 to 10 years old and will perform on stage, escort their title holder during evening wear competition and most of all gain life long memories. This program is so special as it allows each young lady to be crowned Fleur De Lis Princesses, during the beautiful Coronation Ceremony.

As a title holder this is especially significant throughout our Miss Louisiana experience because it allows us to be a role model and touch the lives of these young girls who may very well one day be future Miss Louisiana's!

And so, without further ado...I would like to introduce my very own Fleur De Lis Princess -  Miss Alli Washburn.

After meeting in 2010, we shared our first Princess experience and became close friends. She is one incredible girl to say the least. Alli has a deep love for pageantry and is extremely talented. She has such a passion for dancing and actually dances competitively! I am absolutely thrilled to announce Alli's win in her Miss Preteen Pageant! This is such a great accomplishment and there is no doubt in my mind that she will one day take the crown of Miss Louisiana! I truly could not be more excited and thankful to have Alli grace the stage with me in June.

Doesn't she make such a beautiful queen!

Alli- Congratulations and thank you so much! Get ready girl, this is sure to be a jazzy time! I can not wait to see you-

Much Love and Jazz-

Miss Louisiana Jazzland Takes New Orleans!

Hello Louisiana! My how time is flying by! Between school, work and preparing for the big competition in June, it is safe to say Miss Louisiana Jazzland has been a jazzy but busy bee! So to catch you up to speed, I will share with you a special experience I had just this past weekend.  I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with New Orleans very own "Uptown Strutters" in Jackson Square! I will never forget this day nor will I forget this incredibly funny and talented New Orleans Jazz Band. During the shoot, crowds were surrounding us and taking pictures with their own phones and cameras as we were being shot by our photographer! We all got a taste of fame for sure!
It was truly an inspiration to be right in the heart of Jazz and surrounded by Louisiana's best. I am very blessed to have had this opportunity to visit New Orleans and gain an even deeper appreciation for Jazz music. I would just like to say that it has been an absolute privilege to represent the land of Jazz and I am so anxious to grace the Miss Louisiana Stage with the recognition of this title in just a few short months. I would like to give a very special thank you to our photographer Edward Leger, his work never ceases to amaze me and I can not wait to see what our third shoot has in store! And most of all, a very special thank you to the guys who made this possible, The Uptown Strutters! Lastly, thank you to everyone involved, it was an amazing experience that I will forever hold close to my heart.

Keep an eye out for more photographs
and updates soon!

Thank You Edward Leger for my official Miss Louisiana Headshot

Much Love and Jazz-
